Self driving

Self driving is autonomous driving. This technology allows a vehicle to operate with minimal or no human intervention. It uses complex systems of sensors, AI algorithms, and navigation controls to operate with minimal or no human intervention. Although this technology is defined by Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

Types

Level 0 is a system in which the driver is entirely responsible for controlling the vehicle. After getting warnings or momentary assistance it's also needed.

Level 1 means that vehicle may assist with either steering or acceleration/deceleration. But at this point the driver is still fully engaged.

Level 2 is called Partial Automation. In this system vehicles can control both steering and acceleration/deceleration well.

Level 3 or Conditional Automation for handling all aspects of driving under certain conditions in a car. But in this system human intervention is required upon request.

Level 4 works as a High Automation. By this system vehicles can operate without human intervention. Basically It's used for specific cities or highways.

Level 5 is called Full Automation for handling all driving tasks in any environment. In this system no human interaction is needed.

Features

Self driving Radar, LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors are so important. These kinds of sensors help the vehicle detect surrounding objects, road conditions, and traffic signs. Also there is a feature as an Artificial Intelligence (AI). Because to understand the environment, predict possible events, and make driving decisions these Machine learning and AI algorithms are needed. Also we can talk about GPS and high-definition maps, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Communication as some perfect features of Self driving technology.
